Smiling has always been good; it makes people happy. We say that laughter is contagious, which is really true. People might smile involuntarily when the person whom they talk to smiles, but is that the same when talking to sullen people? The answer is a big NO. In that kind of situation, we want to be far away from them. So, smiling improves the relationships between people.
Of course, the positive sides of smiling are not limited with these. It also relaxes your muscles; facilitates your breathing, blood stream and even digestive system; improves immune system; decreases the stress in your body, your blood glucose, the possibility of having a heart attack or a stroke and accelerates recovery. Smiling helps you to get a better sleep, manage things way too easily, keep your calmness, or it might give you energy as well. Last but not least: It improves your creativity! In a nutshell, it makes your life get longer!
In Türkiye, there is a proverb called “A laughter is worth a kilo of lamb chops.” which is scientifically proven by experts and accurate! Studies about the benefits of humour to health in the last twenty years show how efficient our smiles and the feeling of humour to human health are. The scientific evidences showing that joy and happiness can improve our bodies’ resistance against illnesses are increasing day by day.
In conclusion, smiling is important not only for your mental wellness but also for physical health. When people laugh, the others around them laugh. So, a smiley person would be enough to affect other people. Your laughter does not only affect your circle but also you. It makes us healthier. Let me end my writing like that: I hope we’ll have the days that we just laugh and never get sad or cry.
